Dan (Hoby) Richards is a retired Science Teacher and a Wildlife Technician for the Forest Service. With a background in Ornithology and experience in photography, he captures exceptional visual images of birds both in Idaho and on his trips around the world.
“Hi! Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Dan (Hoby) Richards and I taught middle and high school science for 34 years in the central mountains of Idaho. I have also worked seasonally as a wildlife technician for the Forest Service since 1989. One of my most satisfying experiences in teaching was to see students become excited about birding. Watching birds and photographing birds has always brought great joy and balance in my life. I love to travel and bird in new places, but hiking the forests of central Idaho is where I feel most at home.
After retiring from teaching, I finally had the time to focus on my photography. For The Birds Photography is the outcome of my efforts. I want my business to be truly “for the birds” so 10% of all sales will be donated to a local bird organization.”
